INTERNAL FEED-THROUGH KEYWAY

The example above illustrates keyway broaching on a chain pinion executed with the REV BROACHING TOOL. To achieve burr-free broaching, the keyway is executed with chamfering of 0.2 x 45° on the edges adjacent to the hole with a diam. of 25 H7. Using the REV BROACHING TOOL avoids having to move the workpiece, therefore greatly reducing processing times and offering quicker machine tooling times in comparison to traditional broaching and slotting machines. Also, using the REV BROACHING TOOL, once the alignment has been checked on the first keyway, all keyways executed thereafter will be perfectly aligned with the diametral level of the hole. This alignment is otherwise very difficult to achieve when lathing and broaching processing is carried out on different machines, due to the grip error that is inevitably generated.
